In this project, you will create your own 3D rendering of a letter seal, like the ones you studied in the book, "The Prince and the Pauper." To complete this project, you will use Google Sketchup to design your seal after making the plan with Mr. Groth. Once you have decided on what your seal will look like, you will create it on the computer after Mr. Weimer teaches you about all the tools in Google Sketchup. These letter seals will be 3D printed once you have completed all the elements in the three-paragraph essay.
Below are your three paragraph topics for your essay. Be sure to write each sub heading in bold above the respective paragraph. Each paragraph should have a minimum of five sentences.
Historical Component of Letter Seals (paragraph 1)
Explain the history of letter seals and their purpose. Discuss why The Great Seal is important in, "The Prince and the Pauper". Be sure to use content-specific vocabulary: authorize, seal, signature, illiterate, document, represent, etc.
Technology Components (paragraph 2)
Explain what tools you used in Google Sketchup. Discuss a problem you ran into while designing your model and how you solved it. Is there anything you might do differently if given a second chance to design your seal?
Personal Explanation (paragraph 3)
Explain the symbols you chose, and why. Tell why each symbol means something to you, and why you included it in your letter seal design.
